Greetings from all of us at ForeTees!  We hope your summer season is off to a great start.

Once again we are proud to announce the addition of several great new features.  Some of these features are already available and others will be available on Monday, June 1st.  For more information regarding these features, be sure to click on the New Features link on the ForeTees navigation panel when logged into the system (to be updated on Monday).

Daily Rounds Report - New
This new report will provide a breakdown of the rounds played for each day of the month that you select.   Look for this new report under the 'Reports' tab, labeled 'Daily Rounds For Month'.

Lesson Book Improvements
You may have already noticed a couple of changes to the lesson book - when viewing a lesson book.  The days on the calendar are now color coded to indicate if lesson times are available.  Green indicates Yes and red indicates No.  The colored dates start with the current day (today) and continue for the next 100 days, providing plenty of scheduling opportunities.  The days prior to the current date are the normal black numbers, so it is now easy to differentiate between current days and past days.

Also on this page, we have added a lesson pro drop-down selection box. This will enable you to quickly and easily switch from one lesson pro to the next while maintainig the current date selection.

Faster Check-in Process
Using some of the latest technologies, we have developed a new method of processing the player check-ins on the current day's tee sheet.  Currently, each time you check a player in we must refresh the entire tee sheet in order to process the check-in and show the player as checked in.  This generally takes a few seconds per check-in and results in a great deal of data being transferred (bandwidth usage).  With this new method, we will no longer have to refresh the tee sheet.  Now when you check a player in, or out, the image next to the player will change instantly without changing the tee sheet.  This will save a great deal of time and bandwidth.

Pro-ShopKeeper POS Interface
If you are using the Pro-ShopKeeper POS Interface, you will notice some minor changes.  Due to the check-in improvement mentioned directly above, we had to change the way we send charges to the PSK POS system.  This process is still very similar to the current method, but quicker.   Please contact Pro Support (prosupport@foretees.com) if you have any questions regarding these changes.

Improve The Performance - Browser Update
Microsoft recently announced the release of Version 8 of their Internet Explorer browser.  You are most likely currently using Version 6 or 7 of Internet Explorer.  When we tested IE V8 we were surprised at how much faster it was than the previous versions.  We found that on average it displayed our tee sheets approximtely 3 seconds faster.  We have completed our testing and found that IE V8 performs very well with ForeTees.

NOTICE:  Please consult with your IT staff before upgrading your browser.  Also, if you chose to upgrade, we suggest you do this after hours.   If possible, try this first on a non-essential computer.

To download IE V8, go to www.microsoft.com and click on "Internet Explorer 8" under "Popular Downloads".

Automatic Calendar Updates in Email Notifications
In response to requests from many members, we recently added an iCalendar attachment to all email notifications for new tee times and event registrations.   The iCal attachments provide a means for the members to automatically enter the event into the calendar program on their local computer (by clicking on the attachment).  When we first added this feature, we included it in all email notifications for all members.  We then discovered that doing so created a problem for members using BlackBerry devices (cell phones).  The attachment prevented the email message from getting through to the BlackBerry.  We now only include the iCal attachment in email notifications for members that have opted to receive them.  They can enable this option by going to their Settings tab in ForeTees.  Once in the Settings page they can click on the blue 'iCal attachments' phrase to get more information regarding this option.  We will also prompt them one time when they login to ForeTees.
